Finally this manga got released, it was on my list for months, and the publication date kept changing. This is an anthology of stories, and I really can say I loved each one. My favorite was the opening story, the one the cover is based off of. At first it started out slow 'the shrine the foxes guard... oops they're gone again' presumably to mess around right? Anyway once we got past that, it was great, I loved the back story of them as kids and really feel like she could make a miniseries just out of these two, so I really hope that if she releases another one it has them appearing. The next story is about a Demon and is short and sweet. The next two aren't magical, but are humorous and well drawn. You could tell that she really thought out her plot as well as the artwork. There are bedroom scenes in each story, just not very explicit. Especially the first one, their 'fox tails' cover up a lot :-) On the whole though you won't be disappointed, I really really hope she continues.
A great read for yoai fans. Beautiful art, humor and a one shot tat could easily become more. (If I had my way there'd be more.:)
I love the art and the characters are so easy to like. The emotions come across really well. The love scenes were great while not being overly graphic.
I wish this is not an anthology and just focus on the pair of sexy fox spirits. Just graduated from their magical studies the pair of young lovers are assigned to guard an isolated temple in the mountains. And there is where the fun begins as they "disappear" often and make out at every opportunity. The sex does not reveal the "parts" but I like the way their bodies intertwined (LOL), muscular physiques (including the uke) with their lovely swishing tails and pointed ears. They are such a lovey dopey couple. We get to know them through flashbacks, how one who is highborn protects the one who is lowest in the fox spirits caste system. The drawings when they are just mere clubs are so cute. There is a little angst when the seme loses his power and riverts to a little white club. The mangaka is also rather naughty giving us a small "yuri" panel in one of the flashbacks when the highborn seme is being seduced by lady foxes. I really enjoy these two sexy foxes' chapters and wish there is much more.I thought the rest of the anthology is fine but not memorable.The second love story on a god and a mortal would have been better if it is longer but the seme is one sexy god! The 3rd story is typical when a shy famous model falls for a bento shop owner. I quite like the last romance between a police officer and a Yakuza clan head. Overall I wish the sex is more revealing but that is OK as we have muscular bodies here instead of the more typical feminine ukes. I do hope we hear more of our fox lords. Worth getting just for the sexy fox lords stories alone and I do enjoy her artwork.
